Promotion/Demotion Criteria
The desire of the club is to make reasonable, fair and enjoyable participation in club photographic competitions available to all members that wish to take part. It is recognised by the committee that this area is subjective so there are no absolute rules and that exceptional cases may arise, but the guidelines to be used are described below.
Promotion: The competition secretary or committee members will approach you to invite you to move up a division if:
1 - You win an Oakley Camera Club league competition.
2 - You are runner-up in an Oakley Camera Club league competition more than once in three seasons.
3 - You have achieved an external photographic distinction such as, but not limited to, DPAGB, ARPS or EFIAP.
Demotion: The competition secretary or committee members will approach you to suggest that you move down a division:
1 - If you come last in the league more than once in three seasons
2 - You may also ask to be moved down if you feel uncomfortable with your work being compared with other work in that division.
3 - You may ask to be returned to a higher division at the end of the current season.

Internal Club Competitions - General Information
There are two sections in each league, one for Advanced (Division 1) and one for Beginners/Intermediates (Division 2) so if you’re just starting out in photography or have more experience, you will be competing with members at a similar level.
Of course if you don’t have the full quota of images you can still enter and have your work judged. Although subjective, there is an enormous amount to be learnt from judges’ comments.
See Tips & Tutorials Page for instructions to help prepare your digital images.
