South Downs National Park Photo Competition
Open to both amateur and professional photographers. First prize is £250 with £150 and £50 going to second and third respectively. For the past two years the quality of images has been so high that we’ve also given a ‘people’s vote’ prize of £100.
This year’s theme ‘Perfectly Seasoned’ was chosen by our 2017 competition judge Steve Watkins editor of Outdoor Photography magazine. Steve will be joining the judging team again this year, alongside talented professional photographers Finn Hopson and Rachael Talibart.
Spring, summer, autumn, winter – every season in the South Downs has something to offer. But our judges are looking for something different. Can you impress them with a fresh perspective on the changing seasons in the National Park?
Entries close at midday on Friday 19 October 2018. The full terms and conditions and an entry form to download can be found at www.southdowns.gov.uk/enter-the-south-downs-photo-competition/

Natural World Photography Tours with Robert Harvey BA ARPS EFIAP
Robert Harvey visited us in October to present his interesting and informative talk on The Art of Audio Visual. We enjoyed five of Roberts AVs ranging from the British coast and countryside, tropical wildlife and American landscapes. It is certainly an excellent way to present a set of themed images and adding a sound track of music or commentary adds another aspect to the experience.
Robert leads a wonderful selection of Photography Tours covering Wildlife, Landscape and
Night Sky. See available Tours for 2018 here or visit www.naturalworldphotography.net

TAO Photo Tours: Namibia 2018
We are running 3 photo tours to Namibia in 2018 that will give you the opportunity to visit the best locations including Sossusvlei, Etosha National Park, Erindi Private Game Reserve and The Skeleton Coast. The most mesmerising destination in Africa – Namibia combines mountainous dunes, extraterrestrial landscapes, an eerie fogbound coast, merciless deserts and stars so numerous you can read a book by their light. The wildlife is equally impressive – from the regal oryx to the endangered desert lion and black rhino. It is our destination of choice for photography.

Ilford Manor Gardens, Wiltshire
A visit to the tranquil, Italianate gardens is "like stepping into another world" and has been desribed as "one of the most beautiful gardens in England" (Jane Garmey, The Wall Street Journal). Owner from 1899 - 1933 Harold Peto, created the 2.5 acre magnificient Grade 1 Listed gardens. His use of architecture alongside lush and ebullient planting in small spaces, draws visitors on in anticipation of the next surprise. Groups are encouraged to visit outside the normal hours to exclusively experience the beauty and timelessness of the garden, with a personal welcome from the Cartwright-Hignett family. Homemade refreshments are available from the Housekeeper's tearoom. Private evening visits can be arranged with drinks and canapés.
